Jepsen pitched in 16 games (0 starts) for the Angels this year and he was 1-2 with a 7.62 ERA and a 2.31 WHIP. He also pitched in 24 games (0 starts) in AAA-ball this year for the Angels and he was 1-3 with 7 saves, a 4.45 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP. The Angels would have probably called Jepsen up when rosters expand on September 1st, but they should be o.k. without him.

21-year old righty swinging 1B/DH C.J. Cron was the #17 overall pick in the first round of the 2011 Amateur Draft last June. He decided to get right to work despite having a tear in his right shoulder that will need surgery at the end of the year. Cron played in 34 games in Rookie ball this year and he was 44 for 143 (.308 avg, 1.000 OPS) with 30 runs scored, 13 homers and 41 RBIs. He was DHing this year to protect his shoulder, but he will miss the rest of this season due to surgery on his right knee to repair ligament damage after he dislocated the knee over the weekend. Cron has a huge upside for the Angels and he should be ready to go next spring.
